This group covers the businesses that sit next to a cafe or serve the same customers: coffee equipment and kitchen supply stores that sell espresso machines and grinders, bookstores with a coffee counter, coworking spaces with member coffee and day passes, grocery and convenience stores, full-service restaurants, bars and pubs, and hotels whose lobby cafe is open to the public. Supermarkets and warehouse clubs sell whole-bean and ground coffee at the lowest prices, while roasters and specialty stores carry fresher, single-origin beans. Schenectady is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Schenectady follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Absolutely amazing, The food was delicious, fresh, and full of authentic Dominican flavor. Everything was seasoned perfectly, and you could really taste the care that went into preparing the food. The service was also wonderful—everyone was friendly, welcoming, and made me feel right at home. You can tell this is a place where they genuinely care about their customers and take pride in their food. I left completely satisfied and already know I’ll be coming back. If you’re looking for great Dominican food, generous portions, and amazing service, I definitely recommend giving this place a try!

So glad I finally got to visit. They were kind and the food was delicious. It’s nice and cozy in there. The mangu was perfect. The pernil was so tasty and I don’t even like mustard. The canasticas were so so yummy. We got five fresh squeezed/pressed juices and the whole house was raving about them. We barely made it home with the drinks. I want all of my people to enjoy this place. Will be going back.

Me and my older sister went here yesterday, got 2 Domi bowls, 2 beef empanadas, 1 Angel Kiss(?) which was the tres leches flan desert— I have never been more satisfied. We ate everything and the only picture I have is my leftover Domi bowl.. the mac salad actually had me jumping up and down in delight and I don’t even like mac salad like that. Fried chicken was sooo tender, so flavorful and so crispy, and the rice was cooked to perfection. The Angel Kiss.. SO GOOD!! I love flan and tres leches so this was a great experience. Again, I don’t even eat mac salad like that. But damn!!!! I’d order a whole pint of theirs and eat it all week. Same with the peas and rice?! So upset I didn’t take pics. Also the empanadas were delicious I ate both immediately HAHAH.

5/5 Stars – Authentic Dominican Delight on State Street! I recently stopped by Tropical Orchid Cafe at 1326 State Street in Schenectady and wow—what a gem! I ordered the Mangu y Los 3 Golpes (the classic Dominican breakfast with mashed plantains, fried cheese, salami, and eggs), and it was absolutely amazing. The mangu was perfectly creamy and flavorful, topped with those tangy pickled onions that tie it all together. Every bite felt like a taste of home (or a really good vacation). The service was super friendly and welcoming right from the start. And don’t even get me started on the homemade coconut cookies (coconetes)—they’re fresh-baked, chewy, coconutty perfection. Seriously, to die for! I had to grab extras to take home. This spot brings authentic Dominican street food and sweets with a cozy, vibrant vibe. If you’re craving something hearty, flavorful, and made with love, come here—you won’t be disappointed. Already planning my next visit! 🇩🇴✨ Highly recommend—5 stars all the way!
